Workforce: Agriculture employs 4.8M people — 34.3% of Ghana's total workforce. 52.8% of all households engaged in farming.
Import Gaps: Rice: 764K MT imported (2023). Frozen Meat: 273,692 MT (87% poultry). Wheat: 100% imported.

Ghana's vegetables & fruits are primarily rainfed smallholder crops. Tomato dominates with 56,000 ha. Onion production is highly seasonal (dry-season irrigation). Major hubs: Brong-Ahafo (tomato), Upper East (dry-season onion/tomato), Volta (shallot/pepper), Greater Accra & Ashanti (peri-urban gardens).
